MOBILE APP PRIVACY POLICY

WDW Food&Wine

Last updated: December 18, 2022

Small World Code LLC (“we” or “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of our users (“user” or “you”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (“Application”).   Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.  IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE TERMS OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT ACCESS OR USE THE APPLICATION.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason.  We will alert you about any changes by updating the “Last updated” date of this Privacy Policy.  You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of updates. You will be deemed to have been made aware of, will be subject to, and will be deemed to have accepted the changes in any revised Privacy Policy by your continued use of the Application after the date such revised Privacy Policy is posted.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the third-party online/mobile store from which you install the Application or make payments which may also collect and use data about you.  We have no access to, nor are not responsible for, any of the data collected by any such third-party.

COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION

Every user is automatically assigned an anonymous identifier (“user identifier” or “anonymous hash”) for collection and aggregation purposes.  No additional user information, such as email or IP address, is collected or transmitted off of the device.

While the Application supports the use of geo-location data, that information is used exclusively for showing the user’s location on the map and geo-tagging photos taken within the Application.  It is never transmitted off of the device by the Application.  Your location is your business, not ours.

Your list selections, ratings and notes, along with your device model and operating system version, are transmitted to our servers, identified exclusively via the anonymous hash, for aggregation purposes only.  This information is neither shared with nor sold to anyone.

Contributed Photos

Photos contributed to us via the Application are stripped of all metadata (including location) before being sent to our servers, where they are manually curated before being considered for sharing with our community. Manual curation ensures that all photos shared with our community are appropriate (in other words, about the food) and that they never include children (of any age).

By contributing your photo, you are giving us your implicit consent to modify (for crop, clarity and resolution) and distribute your image to our user community on your behalf. Contributed photos are distributed from our servers with an anonymous copyright, preserving your ownership of the image, without exposing your identity.  If at any time, you wish to have any (or all) of your photos removed from our servers, please contact us using the contact link below.

USE OF YOUR INFORMATION

Having accurate information allows us to provide you with useful analytics, such as festival favorites and aggregated ratings.  It also allows us to make effective decisions about which mobile platforms, operating systems, and devices to support.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

Since we do not have any personal identifying information about you, we cannot share your personal information with anyone.  We may, however, share the anonymous data collected if, and only if, we are compelled to do so by law.  In the unlikely event that this happens, we will post an update to this policy document with a link to additional information.

Sale or Bankruptcy

If we reorganize or sell all or a portion of our assets, undergo a merger, or are acquired by another entity, we may transfer the information we have gathered to the successor entity.  If we go out of business, your information may be an asset transferred or acquired by a third party.  You acknowledge that such transfers may occur and that the transferee may decline to honor commitments we made in this Privacy Policy.

TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

We do not make use of any tracking technologies within the Application, except for the geo-location information used to show your location on the map and to geo-tag photos taken from within the Application.  As stated above, this information is not transmitted to our servers.

SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect the data that we gather.  While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.  Any information disclosed online is vulnerable to interception and misuse by unauthorized parties.  Therefore, we cannot guarantee complete security if you provide personal information (for example, via email).

POLICY FOR CHILDREN

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 13. If you become aware of any data we have collected from children under age 13, please contact us using the contact information provided below.

CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. If you are a California resident and would like to make such a request, please submit your request in writing to us using the contact information provided below.

If you are under 18 years of age, reside in California, and used the Application, you have the right to request removal of unwanted data that you publicly post on the Application. To request removal of such data, please contact us using the contact information provided below, and include the anonymous account identifier associated with your account (available in the About window of the Application) and a statement that you reside in California.  We will make sure the data is not publicly displayed on the Application, but please be aware that the data may not be completely or comprehensively removed from our systems.

Please note that in order to satisfy any of these requests, you must provide us with your anonymous hash identifier, since we have no way of linking the information on our servers to a specific user without that information.  Please contact our support team using the link below to learn how to access that information on your device.
